Xi Jinping secures second term as Communist Party’s head in China

Beijing (China): Xi Jinping secured a second term for five-years where he will be heading the Communist Party in China.
Xi, 64, secured a second five-year term as general secretary after his eponymous political theory was enshrined in the Communist Party constitution, giving him an inviolable mandate to rule and possibly positioning him to retain power for decades to come.
The Chinese leader was elected in a closed-door vote to head the Politburo Standing Committee, with Premier Li Keqiang retaining his seat on the ruling council alongside five new members.
