UTK inaugurates Kavoor Market Complex

Kavoor: The newly built Kavoor Market Complex at the cost of Rs 4.85 crore was inaugurated by district in-charge minister U T Khader on Sunday, February 17.
Addressing the gathered after inaugurating the complex, Mr Khader said, “The Congress rule in the Mangaluru City Corporation has given thrust for the development of markets and drinking water supply.”
“The MCC has been successful in providing basic facilities in the city. The work on Urwa Market too has been completed. The foundation will be laid for Kadri market shortly. The funds have been sanctioned for the Kankanady market as well,” he informed.
”A drive to identify artificial flood prone areas in Mangaluru is being conducted. Measures will be taken to ensure easy flow of water in Rajakaluve during monsoon. The encroachments of the Rajakaluve will be cleared and the banks of the Rajakaluve will be strengthened,” he said.
A sum of Rs 450 crore under second phase of ADB funded project will be utilised for strengthening water supply system within Mangaluru City Corporation jurisdiction, informed Mr Khader.
