Girls ends life over break up

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a PU student consumed poison and died allegedly after her boyfriend broke up with her on Tuesday.

It has been learnt that the victim was in a relationship with a youth studying in a private college.

The police revealed that the accused had promised to marry her, but on Tuesday he called her and informed that he was breaking up with her. He immediately disconnected the call. The victim tried to call him repeatedly to know the reason, but he had switched off his phone.

The victim consumed pesticide while she was alone at home. When parents returned they saw her unconscious and rushed her to a private hospital here, where the doctors declared her as brought dead. 

Enraged family members traced the boy and thrashed him before handing him over to the Yeshwanthpur police.

The police have taken up a case of abetment to suicide against the accused and are investigating.
