Car bike collision; girl dies

Chikabbalapura: A speeding car rammed into a school going girl here at NH 234 on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Srushti. She was the pillion rider while her elder brother Umashankar was dropping her to Vidyaniketana School where she studied.
It has been reported that a speeding car knocked down a bike when they were trying to take a right turn near Konappalli village gate. The car hit the bike from front which was traveling towards Chintamani. The passersby rushed both to a nearby hospital where doctors declared Srushti brought dead. Umashankar who has been severely injured is being treated in the hospital.
The protesters said that member of Parliament K H Muniyappa’s elder sister’s son Srinivas was driving the car but police said that they have not received any complaint specifically against Srinivas. He has also sustained injuries and is being treated at the hospital.
