Bengaluru: The Hindu Vidijina Parishad has opposed  the SIT’s decision to invoke the  Karnataka Control of Organised Crime Act (KCOCA) against the alleged killers of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh.

Addressing the reporters, the HVP national president, Virendra Ichalkaranjikar, lashed out at the Karnataka government and the police of being soft in their approach  to those accused of murdering RSS workers and hard on the 12 suspects arrested for Lankesh’s murder.

The 12 accused in Lankesh murder case who have been booked under KCOCA, just because they are Hindu activists. Wherein the ones who have been accused in murder case of hindu activists have been treated differently. He said that eight RSS workers have been killed by PFI and are not booked under KCOCA.

High Court lawyer and member of the HVP,  NP Amrutesh claimed that all the charges against the 12 accused were false and the SIT had tortured them to extract their statements.
