Truck runs over 12-year-old boy; dead

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a seventh standard student was killed after a speeding water tanker knocked down the vehicle in which he was the pillion rider and ran over the boy’s head on Panathur main road on Thursday.

The boy’s father was also injured in the accident. 

The deceased has been identified as Bhavanth (12) student of Patel Public School in Bellandur, and a resident of Boganahalli near Kempamma Temple.

Bhavanth’s father Muniraju B, a businessman, was dropping his son for tuitions in Panathur, the police said. 

The tanker driver is said to be absconding and the cops are on a lookout for him.
