Ram Nath Kovind elected India’s 14th President

Former Bihar Governor and NDA’s Presidental candidate Ram Nath Kovind was elected as India’s 14th President today. He secured a vote value of 7,02,044 over 65 percent of the total 10,98,882. He defeated the Congress-led opposition’s candidate Meira Kumar, who managed to get a value of 3,67,314. Kovind is India’s second Dalit President, after KR Narayan.
