Bengaluru: A day after Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa tested positive for COVID 19, the officials of the health department were left staring at a contact tracing nightmare as the latter had interacted with numerous officials, elected representatives, and leaders of religious institutions, besides scores of voters while campaigning in the byelections.

Reportedly, Yediyurappa had met with about 70 Lingayat pontiffs at Hukkeri Hiremath, a mutt, on Thursday, April 15 to seek their help in the polls, and also came in contact with many district party functionaries and hundreds of party workers.

Yediyurappa tested positive for Covid-19 on April 16 and has been shifted to Manipal Hospital

“Upon having mild fever, I got tested for Covid-19 and my report has come out positive. Although I am doing fine, I am being hospitalised based on the advise of doctors. I request all those who have come in my contact recently to be observant and exercise self-quarantine,” he had tweeted
