Mangaluru: Fishing boat that hit shore near Ullal damaged; salvage ops stopped

Mangaluru: The fishing boat ‘Azan’ that had hit the shore near Ullal here was determined to be damaged beyond repair and all operations to salvage it were stopped.

The boat had collided with the boulders of the sea wall during the early hours of Sunday, May 23.

Ten people on board the boat were rescued by the locals.

It was reported that the driver of the boat and a few other crew members were drunk when the collision occurred.
