Mysuru: Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Thursday said that the anti-conversion law is being brought to mislead voters and oppress Muslims and Christians.
Speaking on the issue, he said, ” The constitution gives the right to choose one’s religion. If someone is forcibly converting others, then the government has the right to take action against them. But there is no need to ban all religious conversions.”
He further said, ” BJP itself is indulging in corruption and the Chief Minister is pointing fingers at others. Let there be an investigation to check whether there was no corruption during my term.”
“Also, there are rumors of differences between me and D K Shivakumar. They are all false and it is spread by BJP to malign the reputation of the party. I would like to ask for proof for the allegations,” he added.
