Ensure there is no water crisis in DK during summer: DC to Tahsildars

Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. K V Rajendra on Thursday instructed the Tahsildars to take up preventive measures to avoid water scarcity during summer in Dakshina Kannada.
He was speaking at a meeting of the district disaster management authority held at the DC’s office.
Rajendra said, “Till now, we haven’t faced water crisis in the district and measures should be taken to combat water scarcity in the future. Tahsildars must conduct periodical meetings of task forces to discuss the issues.”
Talking about the safety of daily wage laborers, he said that regular mock drills must be conducted to deal with emergency situations.
“Factory managers and building contractors must ensure the safety of their laborers. Preventive measures should be taken to prevent chemical leakages in the factories,” he added.
Mangaluru City Corporation commissioner Akshy Sridhar, Superintendent of Police Hrishikesh Sonavane and others were present.
