Tumakuru: Dalit leader hacked to death in broad daylight at Gubbi

Tumakuru: A Dalit leader was hacked to death by miscreants in broad daylight In Gubbi town here on June 15.

The Dalit leader from JDS J C Narasimha Murthi (alias Kuri Murthi) was mercilessly hacked to death in front of a tea shop near the Government Junior College in Gubbi.

A former Town Panchayat vice-president, Murthi was at the forefront of the Dalit organizations in the district.

The exact reason behind the killing was not immediately known. The mortal remains have been shifted to the district hospital.

Meanwhile, Gubbi police have registered a case and have taken up the investigation.
