Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday attacked the government over the Agneepath scheme stating that it will have an adverse impact on the security of the country.

In a series of tweets, Siddaramaiah questioned if the government was so bankrupt that they are unable to ensure job security, and pay salaries and pensions to our committed soldiers. “PM Narendra Modi should not play with our security to cover up the govt’s bankruptcy,” he tweeted.

He further urged the government to drop the scheme and recruit soldiers as per the existing process

Reminding the Modi-led BJP government about the farmers’ stir, the Congress leader tweeted that people would yet again teach the government a lesson if it plays with the future of our youth and our soldiers.

“People of our country taught a lesson to the BJP government when they tried to implement anti-farmer laws. People should again teach a lesson for playing with the future of our youth and our soldiers,” the tweet read.
