Udupi: Those involved in corruption, regardless of their political affiliations, must face punishment, said K.S. Eshwarappa on Tuesday.
He also defended himself against allegations of corruption, claiming that he had been fully investigated and found innocent.
In a press conference held at Hotel Country Inn in Manipal, Eshwarappa said that ED had recovered crores in cash during a raid at D K Shivakumar’s house. During his tenure as the Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah looted Rs 8,000 crores in the Arkavathy Layout denotification, he said.
Further, he alleged that the president of the Contractors’ association Kempanna is an agent of Congress. The “40 percent commission” allegations by Congress were nothing but an effort to cover up its own corruption, he claimed.
Eshwarappa claimed that BJP’s Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra has received a good response from young people who were in support of the party’s efforts to save and develop the country and culture.
Taking potshots at the Congress party, Eshwarappa said that Congress had no specific agenda and was simply worried about how to face the upcoming elections. Congress has a mentality of claiming development work done by others as their own, he said.
