Former Chief Minister and Opposition leader Siddaramaiah will likely contest the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections from Varuna. He reportedly held consultations with his relatives and leaders in Kolar on Sunday, to end the confusion surrounding the issue.
Despite pressure from many quarters to contest from Kolar, Siddaramaiah seems to have almost given up on the idea, stating that he would have to listen to what the High Command said in this matter.
Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah’s son, Dr. Yathindra, has announced that he will not be contesting in the upcoming elections from Varuna. This statement appears to have confirmed Siddaramaiah’s move to contest from Varuna.
However, some of Siddaramaiah’s close allies, including former Minister Motamma and Harihar MLA Ramappa, have advised him not to change his stance and continue to contest from Kolar. Despite these appeals, it seems that Siddaramaiah has made up his mind and is now set to contest elections from Varuna.
