MLA Vedavyas Kamath has set up a war room at his office in Mangalore City South Assembly Constituency to tackle the mounting garbage problem.
In a statement, Kamath announced that citizens can call the war room phone number to request garbage collection from their homes or streets.
The issue has arisen as the garbage collection workers have been on strike for several days and have yet to reach a resolution with the authorities despite negotiations.
In response to the situation, temporary drivers have been employed to collect the garbage.
The MLA expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to citizens and assured that the garbage disposal problem will be resolved in the next 3-4 days.
The mobile numbers of the supervisors, drivers, and local authorities have been made available, and citizens can contact the war room to report any issues related to garbage disposal.
