Spandana, who recently passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest in Thailand, was laid to rest on wednesday amidst a gathering of family, friends, and prominent figures from the film fraternity.
The final journey of Spandana’s mortal remains began from her paternal residence in Malleshwaram, making its way to the revered Harishchandra Ghat in Srirampur. The traditional funeral rites were performed at the ghat, adhering to the customs and rituals of the Idiga community.
Her grieving husband, actor Vijay Raghavendra, and their son Shaurya performed the last rites for Spandana. The atmosphere was somber, with the loss of a beloved family member felt deeply by those in attendance.
Arrangements were made for the public to pay their last respects and bid farewell to Spandana at her father BK Sivaram’s residence in Malleshwaram until 2.30 pm on Wednesday.
A multitude of prominent personalities from various walks of life paid their respects during this difficult time. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, BJP leader Munirathna, and renowned Sandalwood actors like Rocking Star Yash, Crazystar Ravichandran, Jaggesh, Dhruva Sarja, Yuvarajkumar, Arvind Ramesh, Doddanna, Umashree, Jayamala, Tabala Nani, Vinod Raj, Honnavalli Krishna, Kumar Bangarappa, and Rangayana Raghu were among the dignitaries who arrived to offer their condolences.
Spandana’s passing has left a void in the hearts of many, a sentiment reflected in the large turnout at the final rites ceremony.
