Ullal: Sea erosion intensified at the endpoint at Someshwara-Uchila following the rainfall in the district. One house is on the verge of collapsing and more than 10 houses are at risk.
Sea waves have been eroding the beaches over the last few days in the channel connecting Talapadi and Uchchila endpoint.
A house owned by Dayavati is on the brink of collapse. No temporary measures have been put in place until now to prevent any mishap.
In the last 2 years, the road connecting Uchila Battapadi has been washed away by the surging waves. Now even the endpoint, where there are many houses constructed, is in danger of erosion.
Upset over inaction by the district administration, locals themselves joined hands to construct a temporary embankment by stacking sandbags to prevent erosion.
