In a shocking turn of events, a horrific crime committed three months ago has come to light in Bage village of the taluk.

The victim, 28-year-old Shanti Vasu, was brutally murdered, and her husband, Pawan Kumar, aged 33, has been apprehended as the prime suspect.

An insignificant dispute escalated into a brutal incident that claimed Shanti’s life. In an attempt to conceal his heinous act, Pawan secretly buried his wife’s body, while reporting her as a missing person to the authorities.

However, the chilling truth emerged when stray dogs in the area uncovered the buried remains, leading to Pawan’s arrest. The accused had dug a pit near their residence and concealed the victim’s body there. It was only on Thursday evening that the dogs unearthed the crime, leaving the owner of the property, Srinivas, no choice but to inform the police.

Police promptly took Pawan into custody, and on Friday morning, the authorities recovered the decomposed remains.
