Violence in Gadag: Police vehicles, station damaged on alleged lockup death

Gadag: Violence broke out at Lakshmeshwara police station area limits at Shirahatti taluk of Gadag district on Sunday on alleged lockup death of a lorry driver at Lakshmeshwara police station on Saturday.
A police jeep, two bikes have been damaged in the incident whereas the protesters set fire to the police station also. The police personnel were ran from the spot as the condition get worsen.
The protestors have alleged that the lorry driver, Shivappa Goli (21) was arrested by the police on Saturday evening for transporting sand illegally. Later, the driver was allegedly died as the police beaten him severely. Additional police forces have been deployed in the area.
