Water Level Rises in Major Reservoirs of Karnataka; Tunga Touches its Maximum 3.24 TMC Feet

Shivamogga: Water storage in Tunga dam has reached its maximum storage level 3.24 TMC feet  on Monday morning following higher than expected rainfall activities in coastal, interior Karnataka for the last three to four days. Tunga dam located at  Gjanur of Shivamogga has a water outflow of 7800 cusec with an inflow of around 6000 cusec. 

Almost all water reservoirs in Karnataka have recorded a steep rise in their water storage level following heavy rains during the last three days. However, KRS dam Mysuru has recorded least water storage level  of 67.90 feet against its maximum water storage capacity of 124.80 feet. Meanwhile inflow at Linganamakki water reservoir has touched 12, 000 cusec and Jog waterfall was seen attracting the tourists on Monday. 

Water level at Almatti water reservoir has touched 504.28 meter against its maximum  storage capacity of 519.6 meter as on June 26 followed by Linganamakki 1749.40 feet (against maximum storage capacity of 1819 feet), Bhadra feet 113 (186 feet), Tungabhadra 1569.40 feet (1633 feet) KRS 67.90 feet (124.80 feet), Hemavati 2858.68 feet (2922 feet), Harangi 2817.23 feet (2859 feet), Kabini 2251.75 feet (2284 feet), Supa 525.25 meter (564 meter), Ghataprabha 2070.40 feet (2175 feet) and Malaprabha 2033.28 feet (2079.50 feet).
