Man arrested for cheating businessman of Rs 20L for medical seat

Bengaluru: A man was arrested for tricking a Tirupati-based businessman of Rs 20 lakh after promising a PG admission for his daughter at a medical college in Mangaluru.
The victim, Damodar Rao, that his daughter Meghana had secured a good rank in NEET exam yet didn’t get a postgraduation seat for Dermatology.
Damodar, who was discouraged, imparted his concern to a family friend , Srinivasa Rao, who acquainted him with Vijay Ram.
Ram guaranteed Damodar a seat for his daughter at Yenepoya Medical College under the management quota and took Rs 20 lakh last September, the police said.
Ram additionally guaranteed to decrease the expense through his contacts in the school administration. Damodar realised he was duped when he found that his daughter’s name did not show up on the confirmation list. He tried to contact Ram but he phone was not reachable.
The Ashok Nagar police have enrolled a case as the transaction took place in Bengaluru.
