Man imprisoned for sexually assaulting 3 year old

Bengaluru: A 26-year-old man was sentenced to imprisonment on Wednesday for sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl child who used to go to his mom’s play school.
The accused, Sanjay S is a resident of RPC Layout in Vijayanagar. He was condemned to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 50,000 under the Pocso Act. The police have also named Sanjay’s mother Shobha as co-accused in this case. She was accused for negligence leading to the crime.
The case was registered in 2017. Special public prosecutor K R Subhash, who took the side of the victim, said the conviction was given to a great extent on the undeniable explanation made by the victim. “Her announcement was the same before the police and the court. She additionally recognized her attacker during the identification. His phone was seized at the time of the arrest and was sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for examination. A report by FSL uncovered Sanjay had stored child pornography in his cell phone which fortified the case for his conviction.
