PU Science text books to be available in Kannada

Mangaluru: Pre-university education board is set to release NCERT science books in Kannada language.
It has been reported that, the NCERT science books for first and second year PU will have a Kannada edition.
The board said that the main aim of the project of printing books in Kannada language is to promote and encourage more youth from rural areas and students from Kannada-medium to pursue Science subjects.
“Students from a Kannada -medium background, as well as those from rural areas, are hesitant to take up science, as all the books were in English. However, NCERT books which have been translated into Kannada, will now aid them in opting for science,” said C Shikha, director, DPUE, while speaking to a newspaper. She said that this will also help them score well in CET. The translated books include: Physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology.
She said that the translation work of NCERT books into Kannada has been completed now. All the Kannada science books will be made available in the respective campuses.
