Bengaluru: Mohammed Nalapad Haris, son of MLA N. Haris, was arrested for attacking Vidwath at a restaurant in Bengaluru on February 17. After recording the statements of 23 witnesses, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) has filed a chargesheet against him and seven others. BJP MP P.C. Mohan’s son M.P. Ritesh, MLA Murgesh Nirani’s son Vishal Nirani, Ambarish’s son Abhishek and former Minister H.C. Mahadevappa’s son Sunil Bose and others accompanying Nalapad during the incident were named in the chargesheet.
According to the chargesheet, an argument had occurred between Nalapad and Vidwath after he accidentally brushed Vidwath’s leg in the restaurant. It soon grew out of control when Nalapad and his friends assaulted Vidwath with beer bottles and ice mugs, which made him sustain serious injuries. Nalapad had even threatened to kill Vidwath if he did not kiss his feet and offer his apology.
In his statement to the police, Rithesh who is a friend of Nalapad, said that Nalapad was spraying champagne when his leg accidentally brushed Vidwath’s. When Vidwath asked him to be careful, Nalapad was angered and asked Vidwath to apologise to him and kiss his feet. When Vidwath refused, Nalapad and his associates had attacked him.
