KV Panambur student Rashmi secures 149th rank in JEE (Advanced)

Mangaluru: Rashmi Kasangeri, a student from Kendriya Vidyalaya 1 at Panambur has secured the 149th rank in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category in the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced). She secured the rank by scoring by 108 marks in the exam. Rashmi’s all India (ST) rank in the JEE Main examination was 48.

An NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) scholar and a Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana Fellow, Ms. Kasangeri did well at the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test where she was ranked 11th in the ST category.

“I am keen on medicine. I am hopeful of getting a seat in the Bangalore Medical College,” said Rashmi.

As she was ranked 27th in the ST category in the entrance examination, she was also eyeing a seat in the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research.

Rashmi Kasangeri father Basappa is a from Raichur district and works as the Assisstant General Manager in KIOCL. Her mother Jayashree is a home-maker.

Rashmi is the third in the family to do well in Joint Entrance Examination. Her elder brother Rakesh Kasangeri and her elder sister Ranjana Kasangeri are now studying in IIT Chennai and Mumbai, respectively. All of them were students of Kendriya Vidyalaya 1 Panambur.

Ms. Kasangeri topped in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects in the Class 12 examination in the school. She said that support from her brother and sister and the good foundation laid by her school helped her do well in the entrance examinations.
