Fraudulent Transaction; Former MLA J.R Lobo loses Rs 49,000

Mangaluru: Unidentified fraudsters cheated Former MLA of the city (south) constituency, J R Lobo off of Rs.49,000 by collecting details of his debit card way on Thursday, July 5th.

It is learnt that Lobo received a call from a person claiming to be an employee of State Bank and won over his confidence by stating that his account was being updated. He then made the former MLA reveal all the details of his debit card including PIN and OTP. The total amount was syphoned off through three different transactions.

The former MLA realized that he has been taken for a ride only after receiving debit advice from the bank. Kadri police have taken up an investigation following a complaint under information technology act was registered.
