Martyred BSF soldier Vijayanand Nayak laid to rest with full state honours

Karwar: The martyred BSF soldier Vijayanand Nayak (29) was laid to rest with full state respects on Wednesday, July 11. Hundreds of poeple gathered to pay their last respect to the soldier.

Vijanand Nayak who was attached  to the 121st Battalion of BSF was killed in an IED blast completed by Maoists in the jungle of Chotebetia Kanker district in Chhattisgarh on Monday, July 9. 

The mortal remains reached Karwar on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the coffin was taken from the District Collector’s office to the Police Parade Grounds in a parade. 

A guard of honor was given by the state police by firing three rounds in the air. District Collector S Nakul paid homage to the martyred soldier.
