DCM warns child trafficking rumor mongers of strict action

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Dr G Parameshwar, said that he has issued strict directions to cyber crime police to make stringent action against those spreading false rumors about child traffickers. These guidelines were issued in the setting of various occurrences including innocent people being lynched or killed by villagers who have turned out to be panicky about strangers visiting villages perceive them to be involved with thefts of children.

Addressing media people at Vidhana Soudha on Monday July 16, the Deputy Chief Minister said that in the incident which occurred in Bidar a couple of days ago, a group had assaulted innocent men on the assumption that they were here to kidnap the children. This had led to the death of one of and grievously injuring two. “Such episodes have been repeating. Identifying with Bidar occurrences, 13 people have been arrested till now,” he clarified. 

Parameshwar expressed that while the government  would take action against the accused, cyber crime department police will act against the individuals who spread false messages through social media and create confusion in the minds of the people.
