Udupi: Former MLA Pramod Madhwaraj lashed out at BJP for false promises ahead of urban body polls and said that the false propaganda might have defeated Congress in the Assembly elections, but people have realised the fake promises of those people.
Speaking to media on Wednesday Madhwaraj said, “During the tenure of Congress government, Udupi district has witnessed several development activities. There were no scams and we gave transparent governance. Hence, the electorate must support the Congress in the upcoming urban body polls.”
“When I was the district-in-charge minister, I had provided drinking water facility. Earlier only 8,000 houses had drinking water facility, whereas now over 18,500 houses get drinking water. We also provided Rs 503 crore for the district and works estimated at the cost of Rs 353 is underway,” he added.
Madhwaraj hailed current district-in-charge minister Jayamala for encouraging the party members by campaigning in the district for a day. “She is a glamorous minister and her impact in the district is visible,” he observed.
He also assured that BJP’s dream of making India Congress-free will never be fulfilled.
