Mangaluru: Alert house owners foiled an attempted robbery at Ajjikan Katte in Yeyyadi on Sunday, September 2 but remained unsuccessful in nabbing the burglar.

Reportedly the thief had first targeted the house of a Karunakar V M and was in the process of stealing the cable when the owner got up. At this point in time, the thief tried to gain entry into neighbouring house, belonging to Hariprasad through the window. However even Hariprasad woke up to the noises.

Frustrated by the failure, the thief decided to abort the theft and began to escape from the spot. Reportedly when Karunakar V M and Hariprasad along with a few others tried to confront him he assaulted them with stones and escaped.

Kadri police have registered a case in this regards.
