Congress corporator, three others arrested for Illegal transportation of ‘Anna Bhagya’ rice

Davanagere: The Malebennur police officials arrested four persons including a Congress corporator on the charges of illegally transporting rice meant for Anna Bhagya scheme of the state government.

The accused are identified as Congress corporator Abdul Lateef, Sir Ali, Razaq and Nadhir.
 
Reportedly, on receiving accurate information that Abdul Lateef and three others were illegally transporting and selling tonnes of rice meant for distribution to poor under Anna Bhagya scheme in the market, a team led by DCP inspector Devraj conducted a raid and arrested the four and seized 17 tonnes of rice and a lorry.
  
A case with this regard has been registered at Malebennur police station.
