Blasphemous remarks about Prophet – case filed

Kaup: Shirva police have registered a case against Shashikanth Poojary from Padubelle, accusing him of passing blasphemous remarks about Prophet Mohammad in social sites.
It is alleged that the accused had made distasteful remarks in a way which could incite communal passions as his comment on a post uploaded in Facebook by a person named Muhammed Nassir on December 8th. Shabbir Abdul Khader from Kaup Chandranagara has filed the complaint in connection to this incident.
The case has been registered under IT Act and section 505 (2) of Indian Penal Code. The accused is currently absconding and the police have taken up investigation.
