Karkala: It is alleged by a woman in her complaint to the police that headmaster of a school at Belady in Kantavara village in the taluk hit her son with a stick and injured him for not willing to consume midday meal served at the school.

The injured boy is identified as Aneesh (6), son of Krishna Kotian and Renuka from Belady and is a first standard student at the aided higher primary school at Belady.

Reportedly, Aneesh has been given deworming tablets on Dec 22 morning and therefore was not keeping well and hence hesitated to consume the ‘bisi oota’ and wanted to have food brought from home.

However, the headmaster of the school Suresh S R is said to have the boy’s plea to have food from home and insisted that Aneesh have hot meal prepared at school during the lunch hour. When Aneesh refused to obey his words, the irate headmaster reportedly took the boy to another room, strictly told him to have midday meal and even injured his back by repeatedly hitting him with a stick, states Renuka in her complaint to the police.

The rural police station here has registered a case in this connection and is investigating the incident.
