Srinivas University students bag National Level award

Mangalore: The B.Sc. students of Film making and Animation, iNurture Education Solutions, Srinivas University has secured special recognition award in a National Level Community Radio Video Challenge  for their Kannada Short Film – Butterfly. The competition was organized by CEMCA (Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia) in collaboration with Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (DJMC), Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) Lucknow and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The award ceremony for the winner will be held on March 7 in the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication (DJMC), Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow. The theme of the competition this year was Community Radio for Climate Action.

The film Butterfly by Aman Shetty, Hrithin Shetty, Harshith Holla, and Charan S J focused on highlighting the effects of Climate Change on Butterflies. 

The story of the film revolves around a little boy named Sammilan who pledges to protect butterflies after listening to a Radio Program on Butterfly conservation. He later starts his own Butterfly park by planting numerous native trees. The story is part fiction and is based on existing Sammilan Shetty’s Butterfly park at Belvai, Moodabidri. 

While Adan Klion plays role of little Sammillan Shetty, Sammilan Shetty himself plays his role. Harshith Holla played the role of little Sammilan’s father. Music was specially composed for the movie by Sushmitha Shetty, Clifford Chetan Ambler, Elston Ranjith Stevens and sung by Jesvita Melisha Mendonca. Jeetha Srinivas and Srinivas Pejathaya contributed to the script. The film was guided by Clifford Chetan Ambler, Senior Faculty in B.Sc Digital Film Making, Srinivas University.
