Kodagu: Team which hunted Sambhar nabbed

Madikeri: The six member team which hunted a Sambhar in the protected reserve forest area on the border of Kodagu and Kerala have been nabbed by Kodagu police.
In the backdrop of definite information, the police conducted the operation early in the morning at Kutta-Erpu junction in Kodagu bordering Kerala and seized the vehicle, sambhar meat, weapons used for the hunt and arrested the hunters.
The arrested
The arrested are identified as K B Siddique, M H Shameer, A U Sameer, all from Mapille Todu in Ponnampete and K E Isamil, K A Yusuf and K A Mohammed all from Kunjila village in Napoklu.
Car, Tempo seized
A single barrel rifle, other weapons, around 150 kg of sambhar meat, Maruti Suzuki Celerio and a goods vehicle was seized from the accused. The case in this connection has been registered at Kutta police station.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of DSP Dr Suman D Pannekar and DCIB Inspector K Nagesh, staffs K S Anilkumar, B L Yogesh Kumar, K R Vasant, M M Niranjan and driver K S Shishikumar were part of the operation.
Prize announced
The Superintendent has announced a cash price of Rs 10,000 to the police team which successfully nabbed the hunters.
