Bengaluru: Lashing out at the rebel Congress MLAs for back-stabbing the Congress-JDS government Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president Dinesh Gundu Rao on Thursday said that the rebel MLAs must be feeling nervous with the uncertainty in the BJP camp about staking claim to form the government in the state, after the fall of the party’s coalition government with the JD(S).

Dinesh tweeted, ” Our back stabbing Congress MLA’s must be feeling nervous with all these developments. Whatever their fate, one thing is very clear, there is no place for them in the Congress party…ever.”

The Congress-JD(S) coalition government in Karnataka headed by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy collapsed on Monday, July 22 night capping a 14-month long turbulent tenure, losing a vote of confidence in the Assembly, setting the stage for the BJP’s return to power in the southern state.

After losing the trust vote which missed a couple of deadlines, Kumaraswamy, went to Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation to Governor Vajubhai Vala. The resignation was accepted with immediate effect but Kumaraswamy was asked to continue as caretaker chief minister till alternative arrangements are made.
