Four arrested, 765 grammes ganja seized in two separate incidents

Mangaluru: Police arrested four persons on charges of peddling drugs to students and the general public in two separate incidents on Friday.

In the first incident, Kankanady police personnel and Anti Rowdy Squad under the leadership of city (south) subdivision assistant police commissioner, T Kodandarama arrested Shivakumar (26) and Kumar S (23), both residents of Mysuru, from near Bajal cross here and confiscated 240 grams of ganja from their possession.

A case stands registered against them.

In the second incident, reported from near Nehru Maidan in the city, CCB police and Mangaluru (south) police station personnel, under the guidance of city police commissioner, Dr P S Harsha conducted a raid after getting a tip-off and arrested Mohammed Haneef (32), a Deralakatte resident, and Mohammed Shafiq (29), a resident of Manjeshwar.

The police confiscated 525 grams of ganja, two cell phones and Rs 2,000 in cash from their possession. The total value of assets seized stands at Rs 33,000.

A case has been registered against them in the city (south) police station.
