COVID-19: 377 screened in DK, no need to panic, says DC

Mangaluru: With 7 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Karnataka, as many as 377 people have been screened for coronavirus in the district so far and no one has been tested positive.

Speaking to presspersons here on Sunday, March 15, Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh informed that so far 377 people have been screened for coronavirus and as many as 106 people have been kept under surveillance in their homes.

“The reports of eight samples that were sent earlier have come. All of them are negative while 11 samples were sent for testing today (Sunday, March 15) and we are awaiting their results,” she added.

She further urged people not to panic and there was no need to get hospitalised for a common cold.

“Abroad returns must compulsorily remain quarantined at home for 14 days and those who will be travelling to distant places are advised to get in touch with the district administration,” she added.
