New coronavirus cases continue to decline in Italy, the country which has seen the most outbreak of the infection.
It is said that Italy’s death toll from the virus passed the 7,500 mark on Wednesday, however it noted that the rate of new cases of contagion fell.
Politicians of Italy claim that stringent measures imposed over the last several weeks have begun to show results.
The number of new cases rose by just 4,050, the lowest amount since March 17, reaching a total of 101,739. Well, decline in new infections may be due to reduction in the number of tests, which were the fewest for six days.
Italians have been under nationwide lockdown for three weeks and officials said the restrictions, which were due to end on Friday, look certain for at least two more weeks.
Although Italy has been the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in Europe since mid-February, the rest of Europe has been badly affected too.
