Identify the triggers
There are certain things that tempt you and change mindset and makes you do a thing which you do not want to. Identify such triggers and try eliminating them by practising mindfulness, Meditate on a daily basis.
Develop a substitute plan
If you want to avoid the thing which you do not want to do then whenever you are triggered, do something else. Like watching a good movie, spending time with your pets, Talk to your loved ones.
Use reminders
Towards the end process of breaking a bad habit, you tend to get triggered the most. Hence, use certain reminders on an hourly basis like a motivational quote or any other thing which makes you happy.
Always remember, as the bad habits are engrained in your mind, it will take a lot of time to get rid of them. Hence, be patient and persistent with your approach and after a period, you will definitely see the results.
