K’taka: CM Yediyurappa promises to solve teachers’ problems, including salary arrears

Bengaluru: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has promised to address the issue of salary arrears of state teachers in a phased manner.
He stated this while speaking to the Teachers and Graduates constituency members of the State’s Legislative Council.
The members reportedly appealed to the chief minister to immediately release pending RTE money to unaided educational institutions, provide special package for teachers of unaided educational institutions, provide interest-free loans to unaided educational institutions and provide food kits to financially needy teachers.
The chief minister stated he will respond to the recommendations of the committee headed by Puttanna. He further added that RTE money will be released in phases, all school and colleges will be notified to release teachers’ salaries, directives will be issued to provide all poor teachers with food kits and will resolve any other remaining demands after consultation with officials.
