Mysuru: Following remarks from opposition leaders over naming of Yelahanka flyover in Bengaluru after Veer Savarkar, BJP MP Pratap Simha on Thursday, May 28 urged them to stop politics over such issues.
Speaking to reporters here Simha said that he failed to understand why government decision to name the flyover after revolutionary freedom fighter was being opposed by former chief ministers Siddaramaiah and H D Kumaraswamy in the first place.
“Why was government canteen in Karnataka named after Indira Gandhi. Did you forget Kanakadasa while naming the canteen. Why Nagarahole and Bandipur forests were named after Nehru family and not after a Kannadiga,” he questioned.
Let them first go to Andaman and Nicobar Islands and see the jail where Savarkar was imprisoned,” he added.
