Udupi: DC warns of strict action against those who violate lockdown guidelines in wedding ceremony

Udupi: District Commissioner G Jagadish said that not more than 50 people would be allowed at wedding functions and strict action will be taken against the violators.

As per the lockdown guidelines, only 50 people are allowed to gather in a wedding ceremony, however in the district when the police randomly visited the marriage venues in Udupi, they noticed over 50 people gathered at the weddings. DC Jagadish had was warned of strict action against the violators.

“If one has to hold a wedding, they should take permission from the Tahsildar. The organizers need to ensure not more than 50 people gather at the wedding function. If more than 50 people are found at the function, Tahsildar and the people who attended function will face strict action,” warned DC.

The DC further added that if people violate lockdown guidelines, it will be difficult to control the spread of the virus.
