SSLC results to be announced in first week of August

Bengaluru: 89 percent valuations of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) exam papers has been completed and the results are likely to be announced in the first week of August.

“Due to lock down in Bengaluru the valuation of the SSLC exam papers has been delayed there, however, the valuation will be complete in two to three days. Whereas the valuation in most of the districts in Karnataka including Mysru, Dharwad has been completed,” said Education Minister Suresh Kumar

The Secondary School Leaving Certificate examinations in Karnataka concluded on July 3 with an overall average of about 98 percent attendance amid the coronavirus scare. The SSLC exam was scheduled to take place from March 27 but due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown, it was postponed.

The exams were conducted at a time when there was a sudden spurt in coronavirus cases in Karnataka, especially Bengaluru.

After completing the SSLC examination, the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) increased the number of evaluation centers and provided transport facilitates for staff grading papers. A total of 67,000 evaluators have been roped in to evaluate answer scripts of about 8.48 lakh students.

While last year, evaluation took place at 228 centers, this year there were another 51 centers. As per the SOP by the department, a maximum of 14 evaluators was allowed to sit in one classroom for evaluation.

Health screening booth at the evaluation centers was done and teachers had to undergo thermal screening and wear masks while grading papers. They were also asked to sanitize their hands regularly.
