Veena Bhaskar elected as president of Kundapur town council, Sandeep as vice president

Kundapur: Veena Bhaskar has been elected unopposed for a 9th term the president of the town council here while Sandeep Kharvi was also elected vice president unopposed in the elections held on the afternoon of November 3.

Tehsildar Anandappa Naik as the election officer conducted the elections for the two posts.

The general elections of the town council were held two years ago. However, as objections were raised and a court case was ongoing on the issue, the elections for the post of president and vice president were delayed three times.

Veena is the councillor from the TT Road Ward and Sandeep Kharvi is from Bahadur Shah Ward.

The town council has 23 seats. BJP has 14 members, Congress 8 and 1 Independent.

MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty and district BJP president Suresh Nayak Kuilady congratulated both of them.
