Mathura: An eight-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped by two motorcycle-borne people while he was returning from his school here today, police said.

Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhakar Chaudhary said the class 3 student was lifted from near the Krishna Colony under the limits of the Kosi Kalan police station this afternoon.

He is a student of a nearby school and his father is a small-time businessman, the police said.

Four teams have been deployed to recover the child, the SSP said.

The officer said the alleged kidnappers tried to take away another schoolboy, a year senior to the abducted child, but failed in their attempt.

SP (Rural) Aditya Kuma Shukla said special and SWAT teams have also been deployed to trace the child.
