Additional special trains between Mangaluru-Bengaluru from Aug 26

Mangaluru: The Railway Board has responded to the demands of the public for additional train services to Bengaluru from the coastal city in view of the landslides on the various Ghat roads. Special trains will run from July 26 till August 31, the railway officials announced.
An additional special train will ply between Manglauru Central (MAQ) and KSR Bengaluru (SBC) via Mysuru route thrice a week.
Train Number 06547 will run every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. It will depart Bengaluru (SBC) at 8.30 pm and reach Mangaluru Central (MAQ) at 9.05 am. It will have stops at Kengeri (at 8.49 pm), Ramanagara (at 9.13 pm), Channarayapatna (at 9.24 pm), Mandya (at 9.54 pm), Mysuru (at 11 pm), Krishnarajanagar (at 11.49 pm), Holenarasipur (at 12.43 am), Hassan at (1.35 am), Sakaleshpur (at 3 am), Subrahmanya Road (at 6.10 am), Kabaka Puttur (at 7.30 am), Bantwal (at 7.30 am), Mangaluru Junction (at 8.13 am).
Another train (No. 06548) will depart every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from Mangaluru Central. The train will leave Mangaluru Central at 6.35 pm and reach KSR Bengaluru Station at 6.15 am. it will have stops at Mangaluru Junction (at 6.48 pm), Bantwal (at 7.20 pm), Kabaka Puttur (at 7.48 pm), Subrahmanya Road (at 8.40 pm), Sakaleshpur (at 11.20 pm), Hassan (at 12.25 am), Holenarasipur (at 1.13 am), Krishnarajanagar (at 2.08 am), Mysuru (at 3.50 am), Mandya (at 4.30 am), Ramanagara (at 4.42 am), and Kengeri (at 5.11 am).
The train consists of 14 coaches including two 2-tier AC, two 3-tier AC, 9 second-class sleeper coaches, and two general second-class coaches.
On July 18, Udayavani had written a report highlighting the plight of travelers between the two hubs in the state. The demand for additional trains was also made in the report.
