Air India Express pilot lands M’luru bound flight and leaves; passengers stranded

Coimbatore: In a very singular incident, the of Air India Express flight IX 814, was flying from Dubai to Mangaluru abandoned the flight at Coimbatore airport after landing on Thursday, August 8. The only excuse he gave was that his duty time was over.
In reality, the flight was supposed to reach Mangaluru International Airport at 4.25 am, but inclement weather forced the plane to be redirected to Coimbatore airport. Soon after landing, the pilot simply left the plane stating that his duty hours were over.
Latest information reveals that one of the fliers, the passengers and crew inside the aircraft are waiting for the new pilot since 5 am. The passengers are made to sit inside the aircraft and have not been served even water or food since 5 am of Thursday, August 8.
The officials of the plane maintain that they are calling in an alternate pilot to fly the aircraft and have asked the passengers to keep calm.
