Bagalkote: Doctors remove 187 coins from man’s stomach

Bagalkote: A 58-year-old man has been successfully operated upon by doctors to remove 187 coins that he had swallowed over a long period.

The patient, identified as Dyamappa Harijan a resident of Lingasugoor, is reportedly doing well after the surgery.

After Dyamappa fell sick his family members took him to Shi Kumareshwar hospital for a check-up. The doctors were surprised to find metal coins in man’s stomach.

Later, the doctors performed an endoscopic procedure and removed the coins from Dyamappa’s stomach. A total of 187 coins — 56 of Rs 5 coins, 51 of Rs 2 coins, and 80 of Rs 1 coins– were found.
